Ten Core Commitments for internetwork marketing

Many of you who are in the network marketing field know something called the ten core commitments made famous by Jeff Olsen who also authored a book called “The Slight Edge”.  For those that don’t know what the ten core commitments are they are a series of ten disciplines that one needs to follow to insure their success in that business venture.  Many network marketing companies use the ten core commitments for their distributors to follow because the ten things are both easy to do yet easy not to do, plus they are also very duplicatable to the newbie just coming in not knowing much about the industry.

Since we are in the network marketing business but use the internet I was thinking we internetwork marketers need our own ten core commitments to follow so we have a map on what we need to do in this business to succeed.  Now this is just my opinion so you may not like MY ten core commitments but if you’ve got some improvements for it please comment and I’ll add to it if needed.

Here they are revised for internetwork marketing

1.  Get through a getting started game plan.

- For example if you are in MLSP there is a little getting started game plan that you should go through to get a better understanding of what you need to do when you are just getting started.

2. Connect with at least 5 to 10 people a day.

- CONNECT with people on facebook, twitter, youtube, linkedin, etc.. But the key here is to actually connect with the individuals and not just add to add people.

3. Attend a weekly webinar for either your primary company or the free MLSP webinar training on Wednesdays.

- Each primary company has weekly webinars that you can attend daily.  You can even go on the live wednesday mlsp webinars held at 9 pm eastern time.

4. Attend a member orientation

- Go through some sort of orientation so you get a better grasp of the product or service.

5. Send at least one long distance package to someone outside your local area each week.

- Even though we do this business online doesn’t mean who shouldn’t be using offline methods.  A lot of primary companies out there have a dvd of some sort that you can send to people.  If you are in the health and nutrition company you can even send out your product samples.

6. Attend your company Super Saturday & Regional Events.

- You gotta have belief in the company that you work with so you must stay close to the fire.  By going to these events you’ll see the movers and shakers and continue to build belief in what you do.

7. Attend your companies super events or Attend Live the Dream or No excuses events.

- Going to these big events further creates that bigger belief in what you do.  Going to Live the dream and no excuses helps you network and rub elbows with internetwork marketers very best.

8. Read 10 pages and listen to 30 minutes of audio daily

- Pretty easy to do but also easy not to do.  Ten pages isn’t a lot but you have to stay consistent.  I read first thing in the morning and before I go to bed.  Listen to personal development for at least 30 minutes as well.  I listen to it in my car on my commute to work and home.  I also listen to personal development in my first 30 minutes of going to the gym.

9. Find an accountability partner

- Find someone that will hold you accountable for everything that you said you would do.

10. Be here a year from now.

- Stick around don’t quit because it didn’t work after 3, 6, 9 months.
