WHO IS YVES LANOT??
I’m sure those that don’t know who I am is probably wondering who the heck is Yves Lanot and most importantly HOW do you say your name? Well let’s cover part 2 first it’s pronounced EVES like Christmas Eve but with an “S”. Don’t worry though you can call me anything close to that and I’ll know that you are talking about me and I won’t take offense to it. Growing up I’ve heard ALL the variations of my name (even people mistaking me for a girl!).
Now on to the first and most important part. WHO AM I AND WHY SHOULD YOU LISTEN TO ME?
I am a 28 year old living in Sunny San Diego. I was first exposed to network marketing a year or so out of high school from my Mom. Me being young and not having the priorities that I have now I didn’t really work the business. My mom did the majority of it, I just knew I would get occasion checks in the mail so I was not mad at all. At that young age life was good because I worked part time made good money, went to school and didn’t really have any bills to worry about. So pretty much I spent my money like a drunken sailor all the time.
A couple years later my mom joins a different network marketing company and within 6 months she was making really good income. I started seeing 4 and 5 figure checks come to the mail for her weekly, so I started paying a little more attention but I still didn’t have the mindset but I knew I wanted more.
Going to college I felt like it just wasn’t me. It just didn’t interest me and I tried almost every major hehe. I know I wanted more but I didn’t know any better until a great friend of mine let me borrow a book called “Secrets of the millionaire Mind” by T. Harv Eker that was one of the major turning points in my life. That book OPENED up my mind and showed me that there really is another way, it showed me that I don’t have to follow the go to school, get good grades and get a good job routine. I showed me that I can create my own path and not just the path my parents wanted to carve for me.
Needless to say I got addicted to these kinds of books. I read this book several times and my friend started letting me borrow books similar to this. I read Rich Dad Poor Dad and it opened up my mind even more. I just kept reading and then started dabbling into listening to it in my car.
So fast forward a couple more years I work a sales job where I do good, my paychecks were the best I’ve ever had but after a year or so I started getting bored and I found everything wrong with the job. This cycle kept going for me. It was like every job I had was cool then after a couple months or so I didn’t feel fulfilled, I wanted more but what do I do?
I tried to get my hands in businesses but not knowing much it didn’t work out for me, I was young and dumb I guess. Then network marketing shows up in my life again, it was shown to me by a great friend who years before that wrote it off. But he showed me that it does work and will help others. So I listened and joined him.
I went to every single meeting and training. I was that guy who took a bunch of notes every time and even re read my notes when I got home. I went to the big events and even drove half way across the United States for an event. I said I was committed but was I really, well my bank account didn’t show it. I saw people who joined the same time as me getting recognized and people who came in after me walking the stage yet I wasn’t there. I felt like it just wasn’t for me.
During this whole time of learning about myself with this company I always loved using the computer. I’m a big computer nerd I guess. I read a book called lighthouse marketing, which I later found out was a similarity to Magnetic sponsoring, that showed me you CAN use the internet for your business by using the principles of attraction marketing. I was blown away I loved using the internet I for sure thought I was going to blow it out of the water, but you know what they say you don’t just become successful you have to be ready for it. So I wasn’t quite ready for it at the time. Plus the company didn’t think very highly with using the internet as a tool, I remember getting in trouble when I would try to use my own squeeze pages, corporate would call me!
So I moved on not because the company didn’t work but it just didn’t fit my personality at the time. But I still continued to sharpen my internet marketing skills. Constantly reading about everything and anything internet marketing.
Yet another fast forward a couple years into the beginning of this year. I came into a realization that I knew all this internet marketing stuff but I wasn’t making much money with it. What good is that all info I knew if I wasn’t using it. I thought I was in the game but in reality I was just sitting on the bench watching and not implementing. I was trying to figure what was wrong with my business, why am I not at the income level that I thought I was going to be in. Well it was all mindset and I just didn’t take it seriously. So beginning of the year I vowed to take my business to the next level. Then I get an email about No Excuses 2 in Vegas happening at the end of April. I knew I had to be there, I had friends who went the year before and it has changed their business ten fold. I didn’t just want to be there I knew I HAD to be there. So I did what ever I can to get to Vegas for the NO Excuses event super excited to learn.
On my way there I thought I was going to learn new marketing techniques and things that the 7 figure earners are using to generate business but I started realizing it’s not about the techniques or strategies it’s all about you. I learned that these “gurus’ where no different than me. I learned that they made a decision and went with it full pledge and had the mindset of “I will until”.
Going to that event really changed how I approach things I learned that all I need to succeed is already within me. I just gotta go GET IT!
Ever since the event I’ve had laser focus on my business and since I still work a full time job to pay the bills I don’t have a ton of time to work on my business so I have to be smart with my time and leverage if needed. Now the things that didn’t seem to work back then seem to work, it’s like everything is starting to fall into place for me now. It’s like the universe was waiting for me to fully commit to send me the abundance that I’ve been looking for.
I may still work a job now but I now generate 25 to 50 leads daily using marketing methods and being consistent. If you are in the same position as me in you still work a job but want to know how to use your time wisely for your business and ultimately leave that job make sure you opt in below.
